Sequoyah High School is an award-winning public school serving grades 9-12 that opened in 1990 in the Hickory Flat community of Cherokee County, Georgia. Named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Sequoyah High School has repeatedly been noted as a Washington Post "Most Challenging High School," as well as on the US News & World Report list of "Best High Schools in America." The Georgia Department of Education named Sequoyah HS an AP STEM and AP STEM Achievement school, as well as an AP Humanities school. Sequoyah is a past winner of the Greatest Gains Gold Award and Silver Award from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement. Its mascot is the chiefs, and its colors are gold and black.
