Course Description:
AP Human Geography is an introductory course to the Social Studies AP curriculum. AP Human is a course that introduces students to many facets of the Social Sciences. Topics covered include Economics, political Geography, population, world religions, migration, and culture. The principal advantage of this course is the background it gives students entering the other AP classes.
AP Human is an excellent gateway for students to learn and master the study skills necessary to be successful in advanced courses throughout their high school career. Emphasis is put on research and the analyzation of data.
This AP can also be taken as an elective and is not limited to first year AP students.
Prerequisite:
Teacher recommendation from an 8th grade teacher is recommended but not required. There are no prerequisites for AP Human Geography. Students should be able to read college level texts and write grammatically correct, complete sentences.
