CCSD Recognizes the Athletes of the Month

The Cherokee County School District is continuing a new monthly recognition for outstanding high school athletes.

This school year, CCSD kicked off recognizing a Female Athlete of the Month and Male Athlete of the Month.

Congratulations to this month’s winners: Leah Jordan of Sequoyah High School for wrestling, whose head coach is Joe Hulen; and Myles Merges of Creekview High School for swimming, whose head coach is Savannah Porter. 

Congratulations to the honorees and their coaches and thank you to the School Board for its continued investment in student athletics!

Outstanding student athletes are nominated by their high schools, and a committee selects an overall winner.  The winners receive a T-shirt sponsored by BSN, a certificate and recognition on CCSD’s athletics website and social media.
