Students must have an average of 70% to pass and receive credit for the course. However, if the student's grade is between a 65% - 69% at the end of the semester, the student is eligible to participate in CCSD’s Course Extension program. You can register below.
ONLINE REGISTRATION:
- Together, parent/guardian and students will register online (link provided below) for the program.
- Deadline to register is Monday, May 25th at 11:59pm.
- There is a limited number of seats offered. Registration is available on a first come first serve basis.
PAYMENT:
- A $40 fee is required for students to participate in Course Extension.
- Payments can also be made in person in the attendance office at Sequoyah.
- Online Payment Instructions: click on the Payment button below and search for "Course Extension", find Sequoyah in the list and pay for a class or classes.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Students will attend Tuesday, May 26th & Wednesday, May 27th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in Room SE134.
- Students enrolled must attend every day school is in session until successful completion of the program. Any absence must be approved by the School Program Coordinator.
- Transportation is not provided.
Early Lab Time with Bus Transportation – Room SE134
Students have the option to begin Course Extension starting on May 20th after they take their morning final exam(s):
- Wednesday, May 20th from 12:45 – 3:15pm (normal bus transportation provided)
- Thursday, May 21st from 12:45 – 3:15pm (normal bus transportation provided)
- Friday, May 22nd from 9:45 – 11:45am (bus transportation provided at 12:00pm)
- Students may also stay the rest of the day on Friday, May 22nd from 11:45am – 3:15pm, but TRANSPORTATION AND LUNCH ARE NOT PROVIDED
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- The program offers 12 hours of proctored lab time.
- Students can work on this web-based program at home. However, all assessments will have to be completed at school and proctored by a school-based staff member.
- Students will complete an individualized mastery unit centered on content/standards.
- All graded components of this mastery unit must score at an 80%.
- Upon successful completion of the mastery unit, the student will receive a final course grade of a 70.
- If a student does not finish the mastery unit by Wednesday, May 27th by 2pm, their original course average (see below) will appear on their transcript.
