Students must have an average of 70% to pass and receive credit for the course. However, if the student's grade is between a 65% - 69% at the end of the semester, the student is eligible to participate in CCSD’s Course Extension program. Course Extension courses are self-directed, web-based learning programs utilizing the Edgenuity Learning solution.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- The program offers 12 hours of proctored lab time.
- Students can work on this web-based program at home. However, all assessments will have to be completed at school and proctored by a school-based staff member.
- Students will complete an individualized mastery unit centered on content/standards.
- All graded components of this mastery unit must score at an 80%.
- Upon successful completion of the mastery unit, the student will receive a final course grade of a 70.
- If a student does not finish the mastery unit, their original course average will appear on their transcript.
- 9th – 11th grade students must complete all work by 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 29th
- 12th grade students must complete all work by 3:15pm on Friday, May 17th.
ONLINE REGISTRATION:
- Together, parent/guardian and students will register online (link provided below) for the program.
- There is a limited number of seats offered. Registration is available on a first come first serve basis.
- Deadline to register:
- 9th – 11th grade students: Friday, May 24th at 11:59pm
- 12th grade students: Wednesday, May 15th at 11:59pm.
PAYMENT:
- A $40 fee is required for students to participate in Course Extension.
- Payments can also be made in person in the attendance office at Sequoyah.
- Online Payment Instructions: click on the Payment button below and search for "Course Extension", find Sequoyah in the list and pay for a class or classes.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR 9th-11th GRADERS:
- Students will attend Tuesday, May 28th & Wednesday, May 29th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in Room SE134.

Students enrolled must attend both days or until they complete the course extension requirements. Any absence must be approved by the School Program Coordinator.

Transportation and lunch are not provided.

Early Lab Time with Bus Transportation: Students have the option to begin Course Extension starting on May 22nd after they take their morning final exam(s):

Wednesday, May 22nd & Thursday, May 23rd from 12:45 – 3:15pm (normal bus transportation provided)

Friday, May 24th from 9:45 – 11:45am (bus transportation provided at 12:00pm). Students may also stay the rest of the day on Friday, May 24th from 11:45am – 3:15pm, but TRANSPORTATION AND LUNCH ARE NOT PROVIDED.
