GALE: Discovering Collection and Opposing Viewpoints

Discovering Collection: Cross-curricular subscription service that enables students to search by classroom topics such as Geography & Cultures, History, Literature, Science/Health or search by keyword, person, multimedia or timeline.

Opposing Viewpoints: Comprehensive resource of articles, overviews, statistical tables, charts and graphs, images, web links and full-text periodicals and newspapers. Students can research over 100 contemporary social issues, researching “both” sides of an issue.

GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. A World Wide Web-based virtual library, GALILEO provides access to multiple information resources, including secured access to licensed products. Participating institutions may access over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Over 2000 journal titles are provided in full-text. Other resources include encyclopedias, business directories, and government publications.

USATestprep is an online service to help students effectively prepare for their GCRCT and End-of-Course tests/exams. The service includes practice questions which are content-specific and are a great means for students to learn and practice content in small quantities.

Each question allows students to answer then provides a detailed explanation of the question. Videos, games, flash cards and vocabulary review are just some of the additional resources available to students and staff.
